Dylan Jones has been writing poetry for over twenty years. His work has been published in the Anglo–Welsh Review, Planet, the Western Mail, Green Wales and various English magazines. He is also an artist, and sings with the Folk–Roots collective The Sheiling. His website which includes his poetry, as well as art and music sections. Dylan contributed to the anthology of children’s verse The Poet’s House (Gomer 2000), which was voted Children’s Poetry Anthology of the Year. In July 2001, three poems from his Dreaming Nightly of Dragons (University of Salzburg 1996) were performed to music (entitled Three Songs for Baritone & Piano and composed by Penny Squire), at the Joseph Parry Hall, Aberystwyth. Dylan has published work in magazines including The Rialto, Poetry Wales, Envoi, Agenda and The Ottawa Arts Review. He has also published an extended essay ’On the State of the Working Poor’ which appeared in the Welsh Internationalist magazine Planet.
As well as recording a selection of his poetry on the jointly-produced The Next Worst Thing (with poets Ruth Adatia and Stuart Jones), Dylan Jones has also recorded a CD of Selected Poems (Umbrella Head, 2002).
