Anthony Bushell is Professor of German at the University of Wales, Bangor. He teaches German language and specialises in Modern Austria, German literature after 1945, shorter forms of German fiction, German history and contemporary Austrian literature. He has published principally in the field of German poetry and contemporary Austrian literature and culture, and is chair of a British-Slovakian research group devoted to modern Austrian literature. Professor Bushell is also the general editor of the series Austrian Studies in Context and for four years was English-language editor of the journal Aussenpolitik: German Foreign Affairs Review.
