Lorraine is from Builth Wells. After passing a GCSE in Welsh, she gave up her job to travel to Patagonia and write. The result, Chocolate Mousse and Two Spoons was published by Honno in 2008. Lorraine appeared at the Guardian Hay Festival in 2008 and has since published two further novels with Honno. Cold Enough to Freeze Cows (Honno, 2010) has been shortlisted for the 2010-2011 People's Book Prize.
She is a Member of Academi and lives with her partner, Huw and their children.
