Sharon Tregenza was born and grew up in Penzance, Cornwall. She lived in Cyprus and the Middle East for many years before moving to an old mill house in Pembrokeshire with her husband. She has recently achieved an MA in Creative Writing and works as a freelance editor for Accent Press. Sharon has had almost four hundred stories, poems and articles published worldwide, and is now concentrating on writing for children. One of her poems has been included in Pan Macmillan’s recent poetry anthology, There’s a Hamster in the Fast Lane. She was inspired to set her debut children’s novel, Tarantula Tide (Floris Books, 2008), on Shetland when her husband worked on the island and she fell in love with the warm people and varied wildlife. Tarantula Tide won the Kelpies Prize 2008, which was established to encourage and reward new Scottish writing for children. Sharon has four
picture books being submitted to publishers by an agent and is working on her second novel. She is a member of the Society of Authors and SCBWI.Selected Publications:
