ARMITT, LUCIE

Lucie is Professor of Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Salford, where she is also Director of the Research Centre for English Literature and English Language. Her main research interests are contemporary women's fiction, the Gothic, the fantastic in literature and illustration (especially in relation to the work of Beatrix Potter and Edward Lear) and gender theory. She takes an inclusive approach to the fantastic, incorporating issues of ghosts and haunting, space and spatial theory and dream theory and psychoanalysis. Lucie was born in Nottingham and lives in Conwy.
