Chinyere Chukwudi-Okeh is first a wife and a mother of 3 lovely children.
She is a Nigerian author based in Wales, and holds an MA in Creative Writing from Swansea University, where she graduated with distinction. She also has a BA and an MA in English Language and Literature, from the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos, Nigeria, respectively. She is a UK Global Talent, endorsed by the Arts Council of England. Chinyere is also the Founder of the C3 Centre for Creativity and Culture CIC, and the Nganga Performing Arts and Mobile Theatre, which are organisations that create platforms for creative and cultural expressions.
Chinyere performs storytelling, spoken word, dance, and cultural renditions across venues in Wales and writes film scripts. Chinyere teaches Creative Writing, Cultural Competency and Black History in workshops across schools, libraries and venues in Wales. Chinyere’s story, ‘To Buy an Expensive Dream’, featured in Honno Women Press’ ‘Lipstick Eyebrows’. She is a contributor and co-compiler for Honno’s ‘Many Roads’, a collection of memoirs of women from different parts of the world who have settled in Wales. A project for which she interviewed and supported ethnic minority women to share their stories.
Chinyere Chukwudi-Okeh volunteers for the Book Council of Wales as an English Publishing Sub-Committee Member. She has also worked with many art venues as a Welsh Government Anti-Racism Action Plan Reverse Mentor. She was awarded a Highly Recommended Meritorious Award in the Arts, Culture and Sports Category of the Ethnic Minority Welsh Women Achievement Awards 2025. She also won Bronze for the Inspirational Leader Category of The Mental Health Awards Wales. She was a recipient of High Sheriff of West Glamorgan Award for Community Impact/Kindness.
Chinyere is also the author of ‘From the Crevices of Corps Hearts’, published by Paressia Publishers Nigeria. Some of her reviews are published on www.nation.cymru, the Magazine of the People of Wales. Her Short story, ‘International Sisi Eko‘, was the title of the collection of short stories written by students and lecturers of the Department of English, University of Lagos. Her Poem titled ‘Blood on the National Flag’ was featured in the ‘Soro Soke; an ENDSARS Anthology of Poetry‘ that speaks to police brutality and corrupt leadership in Nigeria, which led to the death of young lives in Nigeria.
