Roedd hon yn gerdd gomisiwn fel rhan o daith gerdded ‘Shorelines and shipwrecks’ ym Mai 2025
Bending the shoreline,
rising, falling. Soaked in
sunshine. Seagulls calling.
Measured by footsteps –
a stretch of time. A welcomed
slowness, a rhythmic tide.
Everything’s happening –
but none of it knows. Simple
breathing. Ebbs and flows.
Heather, moss, nettle and
sea slapped rocks. I rustled a
gorse bush and out danced a fox.
I edged by the hedge line,
I crept by a bull. Buttercups
dandelions, clumps of wool.
A windmill near the meadow.
Brickworks at the beach.
Industry and history by the miles
on my feet. All the smiles that I
carry from one village to the
next. Thoughts. Ideas. Poetic
text. All the tales are collected.
Dreams recorded. Set free.
By the proud young people,
at the edge of the sea.
