Gaby’s debut novel REPARATION (Honno Press, 2019) was written after a career in television and print journalism. It was runner up for the Paul Torday Prize, won the Christopher Little Prize and was longlisted for the Bath Novel Award. Born in Cardiff to refugee parents from Germany and Hungary, Gaby’s fiction is inspired by her family background of dislocation and trauma, and her childhood in Wales. She continues to work as a freelance journalist for several national papers and magazines. Her other passion is cinema and her first non-fiction book The Making of Psycho will be published on 30 October 2026 by the White Owl imprint of Pen & Sword Books.
