Richard Axtell has ghostwritten multiple novels, picture books, and memoirs since 2015. In 2019, he was a narrative designer for the educational app ‘The Atlas Mission’ and wrote multiple short fiction and non-fiction pieces for beginner, second-language English readers. He was second author and researcher of the Creative Practices for Wellbeing guidelines – a framework for creatives who want to include elements of wellbeing in their practice. In 2023, he released a science fiction trilogy, Trapped, for 9–12-year-olds with author Katrina Kahler.
